GoFundMe Started to Support First Transgender Woman to Compete in Miss Maine USA Pageant
For the first time in Miss Maine USA pageant history, a transgender woman will be competing.
Isabelle St. Cyr 24, from the town of Monson, Maine, has announced that she is competing in the pageant in May 2025, and she has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to allow supporters to donate towards her sponsorship for pageant fees.
St. Cyr said she started the GoFundMe while seeking sponsorship for pageant fees. She said she has had a lot of family and friends reaching out wanting to donate, but she doesn’t have a business that could sponsor. This GoFundMe is for anyone who would like to donate and does not plan to sponsor her in the pageant. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to pageant fees and expenses.
Isabelle keeps busy owning and running her farm, Blossom Farmstead, in Monson. St. Cyr told the Piscataquis Observer that she loved watching the Miss USA pageants and dreamed of competing in them one day.
St. Cyr also said she did not enter the competition to make a political statement, as she had already registered for the Miss Maine pageant last year before President Trump became the 47th president.
